Due to Caye Caulker’s enviable proximity to Belize’s Barrier Reef, an abundance of world class dive sites are located within a 10 to 30 minute speedboat ride of the island.
Caye Caulker’s own Marine Reserve offers divers a wide variety of sites including Coral Gardens, the North Cut, and Caye Chapel Reef where divers can experience an abundance of healthy corals and sponges, see an array of fish species and even have the chance of spotting dolphins.
Over at nearby Hol Chan (about 30 minutes from Caye Caulker), divers can swim with friendly nurse sharks, large groupers and sea turtles. There are numerous other excellent dive destinations accessible from Caye Caulker including the famous Blue Hole – a must for experienced divers.
